- Change Makers: Innovation Lab (for children):
Change Makers: Innovation Lab is a six session programme with the purpose of exploring real world problems in four stages:
– What is the problem?
– What current innovation is taking place to address it?
– Critical and creative thinking around additional and alternative solutions.
– Identifying everyday, accessible related actions with positive impact.
The purpose of the six sessions is to practice agile, experimental, practical, and solution focused thinking around problems big and small, to foster an active, empowered mindset to addressing challenges and change, as well as a critical lens for understanding what is happening, why, and what innovation/change is likely to be most effective in addressing it.
Skills practiced during the session will include active listening, discussion, critical thinking and analysis, creativity, decision making and presentation.
Fees for the course include a contribution to the Change Makers Fund, which will be invested by the group at the end of the programme for the purpose of ‘making the world a better place’.
This programme is suitable for any child who is of the age of independence, and who is ready to participate in group discussions and decision making. As a guide, 6+.
- Calling the Change Makers Workshop (for adults):
The greatest potential for social change exists within the intergenerational exchange between adults and children.
In this 4 hour workshop you will have the opportunity to frame your desire for making the world a better place within a historical and strategic framework, that will enable you to use your time and energy with the most effective and sustainable impact for real, meaningful change.
Starting with a whistle-stop catch up on the history of patriarchy, then exploring the opportunity and experience of being a Change Maker, the workshop concludes with a vision for a better way that is rooted in a consent and human rights based culture, ripe for realisation.
The time is now and the opportunities are at our fingertips, so lets be strategic and work smart, as well as hard to make this happen.
- Consent Based Education Course (for parents and other people living and working with children):
As parenting evolves beyond the traditional authoritarian model, and families make the choice to live together in more respectful, socially just ways that acknowledge the personhood and agency of children, essential questions arise as to what that means in regards to our relationship with ourselves and others, our outlook and interaction with the world around us.
Consent Based Education is a response to this tension. What happens when authoritarianism/patriarchy, the basis of all our existing systems, is stripped away, and we become more questioning and individually empowered in our own lives and desire this for our children too? What does it look like to move beyond patriarchy to embrace our own personhood, and question the education and social inheritance we’ve received up until now?
What does consent and voice mean to us, and how do these things relate to authenticity and self-actualisation?
This course is designed for parents and people who live/work with children, who want to explore and go deeper into their understanding and experience of Consent Based Education, for their own personal development and to support life long learning in a consent based way. You can find out what it is like to take part in the course here.
The course is made up of the following 6 sessions:
- The History of Patriarchy and Consent
- Breaking Cycles – the Process of Change
- What is Consent Based Education?
- Love and Relationships, Boundaries and Freedom
- Creativity, Flow, and the Potential of own CBE
- The Bigger Picture
